Stay warm, be safe and enjoy this time with your families! We'll be back after the New Year, but for now, enjoy the sounds of Christmas in Hollis from Run DMC. Peace!
Happy Holidays from TBP!
The Best Part: Holiday Greetings
As with every holiday season, a number of talented designers and artists have created some amazing holiday cards/posters/mailers/promotions to celebrate the holidays. In order to pay tribute to those who have worked so hard to send their greetings, I've assembled this list of some of my favorites, aka "The Best Part" of holiday greetings (sorry, I couldn't resist). Click on each image to see more about it, and enjoy!

A Nativity I Would Actually Display
I'm not religious, but I would totally display this nativity around the holidays simply for its beauty as a design object. Created by House Industries as a nod to Alexander Girard, the 13-piece set is made of solid maple and basswood and uses non-toxic inks.

A Thought Provoking Ornament
Via My Modern Met: "These grenade tree ornaments are made by the Manchester design firm Dorothy in conjunction with activist organization Ctrl.Alt.Shift. Looking at these ornaments brings home the fact that it's not all eggnog and candy canes for many people across the globe. The ornaments are sold in six packs and a portion of the proceeds goes to Ctrl.Alt.Shift's efforts to end global conflict".

Christmas by Colour
Frustrated at the plethora of generic Christmas reds, whites and greens, Christmas by Colour decided to explore the colors people really associate with their Christmas. Thousands of people from around the world embraced the project and relished the opportunity to suggest their own color and its personal meaning. They then handpicked the best to be featured on this Pantone-inspired poster. My favorites are "yellow snow", "granny's whiskers" and "bank balance". Hilarious.

A Brief Intermission
With the Christmas holiday around the corner, I will be taking a break from The Best Part until next week to deal with enjoy visiting family. Until then, enjoy these random family photos found on the interwebs, some intentionally cheesy, and some not (I'll let you decide which are which). Happy Holidays to all!
