These insanely detailed (somewhere between 8 and 16 million polygonal faces) cardboard columns were created by Michael Hansmeyer using subdivision algorithms and other words I don't understand. Made of thousands of layers of individual laser-cut sheets of cardboard, they look like a conceptual computer rendering but are actually real, functional objects that can support real weight.
