New York artist Fumi Mini Nakamura has a fantastic style, almost Audrey Kawasaki in nature (if she painted them on wood). Enjoy her seemingly endless portfolio here.

Hi there,
I am LOVING your blog!!! I just started following your blog via google and networked blogs. I'd love if you would recipricte for me. www.chavahkinloch.blogspot.com . I'll also be adding a link on my page to your blog.
Thanks a bunch, Chavah.
Man, it is a bummer that Fumi Nakamura always gets lumped next to that other Japanese artist, her style and that Kawasaki's are so very different. Other than both of them being Japanese, I never see the similarity. Perhaps that they both fixate on females as the focal point. So different though. Perhaps I will start a campaign to remove Audrey Kawasaki as a reference to Fumi's work. I LOVE FUMI MINI NAKAMURA'S WORK!
Fair enough...the similarity I personally find is in the use of soft, pale tones, lack of background information and use of the female form from the waist up. I'm not saying they're exactly the same, but just like we refer to Monet, Renoir and Degas in the same sentence although they are very different, I refer to Fumi and Kawasaki. I'm sure they're both very happy to be compared to each other.
i agree with anonymous on wanting people to stop comparing all the female japanese artist who draw girls to audrey kawasaki! i think they all take their references from the style of manga (where they draw girls over a white background, mostly from waist up)..
