Award-winning illustrator Jacqui Oakley spent her formative years in places as far-ranging as Canada, Bahrain, Zambia and Libya, and it shows in her eclectic work. Via Designworklife.

Jacqui Oakley
Pamela Michelle Johnson
I'm not normally the biggest fan of photographic realism, but the paintings of Pamela Michelle Johnson are simply too delicious to be denied.

Garbage Pail Beats
A collaboration between Thin Consolation and illustrator Oreli, the packaging for this album titled Garbage Pail Beats is pure hand screenprinted radness. Via Lovely Package.

Raquel Aparicio
Spanish artist Raquel Aparicio is doing some great illustration work for humble clients like The New York Times, Wendy's, Nokia and Rolling Stone.

Fumi Mini Nakamura
New York artist Fumi Mini Nakamura has a fantastic style, almost Audrey Kawasaki in nature (if she painted them on wood). Enjoy her seemingly endless portfolio here.

Riki Takaoka
Riki Takaoka paints his daily meals; I wonder how this affects his diet (wanting to eat things that would make for more interesting paintings??). But I digress, I'm more interested in the final product of his journalistic endeavor...amazing paintings.

Florian Nicolle
Florian Nicolle's illustration work combining delicate type and what appear to be hand-painted portraits is incredible, here are a few examples from a few of my favorite skate decks from his portfolio:

Kate MccGwire
Kate MccGwire takes everyday things and "re-frames them to create a visceral response", for a result that is simply mesmerizing.

Jaakko Mattila
These beautifully simple watercolors by Finland artist Jaakko Mattila are a breath of fresh air.

AJ Fosik
AJ Fosik's intricate handmade wooden sculptures are simply phenomenal. At once alarming and intriguing, they demand attention and keep you guessing how he does it.

Ferrari 599XX
As a fan of all things Ferrari, (after all, what could be better than a handmade, elegant rocket on wheels?) I'm anxiously awaiting the new limited production 599XX. In the meantime, I'll have to accept these early sneak peeks. Even with hideous Nascar-looking numbers plastered to its' doors, it's a beautiful car.

Poster of the Day
To round out the triumvirate of Dans (Grzeca, McCarthy, and now Stiles) that have been featured on the Poster of the Day segment over the past few weeks, I'll be showcasing Portland artist Dan Stiles and his poster art goodness.
Make Something Cool Every Day
Herman Lee of Freshfauxx has an exciting exercise underway with his "Make Something Cool Every Day" project, in which he....makes something cool every day.
