Having experimented with a bit of fire and pyrotechnics in my paintings early in college, I was excited to see someone doing it right. Fireworks and painting, what could be better? Introducing the work of Rosemarie Fiore.

Painting for Pyros
Poster of the Day
This week's Posters of the Day feature the work of poster-maker extraordinaire Dan McCarthy.
Heiwa4126
The "Stereographic Projections" of Japanese photographer Heiwa4126 look like little space-age Tokyo planets, I love the lighting of each as well. Via Pink Tentacle.

I want to go to that
Que Homer Simpsonesque drooling noises. The “2015 Honda CB 750″ concept motorcycle by Igor Chak can only be described as lust-inducing. They must make this and I must have it. Via Yanko Design.

Hennie Haworth
Enjoy the crazy-detailed goodness of UK illustrator Hennie Haworth.

Voler
Check out these nice absinthe bottles for French company Voler by packaging designer Eva Pieczynski.
Andy Gilmore
Designer/Illustrator/Artist Andy Gilmore creates these amazing studies in color theory and geometric shapes, a regular modern-day Josef Albers, if you will.

Rappahannock Dream Home
When I picture my dream home, I think of a modern version of the small-town country home I grew up in, tin roof and all. Someplace that speaks in the vernacular of the Midwest without being covered in the wallpaper, paneling and knicknacks of my actual birthplace. Enter McInturff Architects' Rappahannock County House, an amazing combination of country vernacular and modern aesthetics, complete with mountain views and screened porch. I'll take two, thank you. Via Materialicious.

Chris Jordan's Gyre
Chris Jordan created this 8' x 11' triptych titled "Gyre" based on the famous Japanese painting,"The Great Wave off Kanagawa" by Hokusai. Big deal, you say, I've seen hundreds of these...right? But instead of paint, the composition is comprised of 2.4 million pieces of plastic - the estimated number of pounds of plastic that enter the world’s oceans every hour. "Gyre" is the first piece in a series by Jordan to create awareness of the Pacific Gyre, a 1,000-mile-wide concentration of the world's trash created by ocean currents that grows bigger by the day. Hambly & Woolley
Fantastic Toronto design studio Hambly & Woolley describe their work as "Elegant solutions that appeal to the senses – not forgetting the senses of surprise and humour". Via Lovely Package.

Gwen Lee
I'm loving the whimsical style of London illustrator Gwen Lee.

Andy Anderson
The work of Andy Anderson stands up well on its own, but the "travel-journal-esque" theme of his website seems to add a bit to the storytelling of his beautiful shots, if that's possible. Enjoy both the functionality and photography here.

New Detroit Lions Logo
The Detroit Lions (they're a Pro Football team for my non-sports-inclined readers) have unveiled the newest evolution of their identity, adding teeth to the formerly harmless lion and creating a custom typeface for the logotype. Too bad this updated version will be representing a team that seems poised to go winless for years to come.

Sarah Illenberger
TBP favorite Sarah Illenberger has updated her site with new work, and it's genius as always. Be sure to check out the Editions section for some new limited edition prints as well.
